Our Services Include:

  • A 10-bed crisis shelter
  • Support, information, and referrals over a 24-hour hotline (408) 975-2739
  • Emergency food and clothing
  • Case management
  • Peer counseling
  • Support groups in Vietnamese and Chinese
  • Translation and interpretation dependent on language support
  • Social services advocacy and accompaniment including public benefits assistance
  • Legal advocacy and court accompaniment including help with restraining orders and immigration relief and support in the areas of family law and criminal court
  • Health advocacy and accompaniment
  • Emergency transportation and bus passes
  • Assistance obtaining transitional, low-income, and permanent housing
  • Assistance obtaining education and employment
  • Household establishment assistance
  • Safety planning
  • Information and referrals
  • Community outreach and education to service providers and immigrant communities

Housing Assistance:

Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) is home to the county’s third Family Justice Center (FJC). In conjunction with the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office, the San Jose Family Justice Center brings together professionals and community resources for survivors of domestic violence in one centralized location. Survivors have the option to access as many services as best meet their individual needs.

Services include free consultation with:

  • The District Attorney for legal issues and pending criminal cases
  • Family law attorneys to discuss restraining orders, divorce, child custody, and visitation
  • Immigration attorneys who can help a survivor apply for a VAWA or U-Visa

Access to:

  • Legal advocacy, social services, and medical care
  • Victim compensation
  • Individual therapy and support groups
  • Emergency shelter
  • Police officers from several local police departments
