Senior Wellness Program

AACI Senior Wellness Program promotes healthy, active aging through programs, advocacy and engagement. Programs are designed to foster health, wellness, independence and social engagement. AACI offers a broad range of culturally sensitive and linguistically competent services that empower participants with the skills and resources to overcome language barriers, adjust to a new culture, cope with intergenerational changes, establish a social support network and increase their awareness and knowledge of community resources.

HOW TO JOIN ZOOM CLASSES:

Install Zoom Application:

To ensure a pleasant experience with your first Zoom meeting, at least 1-2 days BEFORE the Zoom meeting: download and install the Zoom application on your computer or smartphone.

    • To download and install the Zoom Application:
    • Go to Zoom Download and from the Download Center, click on the Download button under “Zoom Client For Meetings”.
    • Once the download is complete, proceed with installing the Zoom application onto your computer.

If you need help, ask someone who is computer literate to help you or go to Zoom Support

Once the Zoom application is installed on your computer or smartphone, click on the following link to Join a Meeting to see that Zoom works. When you finish testing, click on “Leave” located at the corner of screen. Here’s the Test Meeting.

After installed Zoom:

Register for Zoom classes by visiting the class info link and click on register button

After registered Zoom class:

After you register for the class and have been accepted, you will receive an email invitation with instructions for how to join the class.

Stay Active & Independent for Life (SAIL)

Improve strength, balance and fitness to boost activity level and reduce chance of falling.
Class offers on Zoom: Tuesday & Thursday 12:30-2:00 PM (PST)
Class duration & length: 12-weeks session, begins on 9/17 until 12/17 (no class on 11/26)
Class fee & requirement: No cost,  welcome 50+, participants must have their own internet accessible device.
SPECIAL NOTE:  Fitness equipment is included and is required to be picked up at AACI office before the first day of class (9/17).

Powerful Tools for Caregivers (PTC)

Classes help caregivers take better care of themselves while caring for a friend or relative

Class offers on Zoom: Every Wednesday 4-5:30pm (PST)

Class duration & length: 6-weeks session, begins on 9/23 until 10/28

Class fee & Requirement: No cost, welcome anyone, participants must have their own internet accessible device.

Cybersecurity Workshop

Presentation provided by Connectsafely.org via Zoom

Don’t fall victim to identity fraud, learn some tips about internet safety and security.

Date: Wednesday 9/23

Time: 1:00pm (One-hour)

Fee: no cost,  everyone welcome

Navigate and connect services and resources in support age-friendly community for all

Program is funded by Santa Clara County and all meals are planned to meet one-third of the daily recommended dietary allowances for older adults. The meal plans are approved and monitored by a staff of Registered Dietitians. Asian Cuisine is served 4-day a week, Tuesday to Friday. Lunch MUST be reserved by 10 am. (Due to COVID-19, SNP operation has changed, please call (408)975-2374  for more details and inquiry)
