Services: Specialized mental health services for youth and adults who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning.
Individuals working through sexual orientation issues often experience feelings of separation, isolation, and fear. Talking about these feelings in a supportive, culturally sensitive environment helps develop positive self-esteem and a strong identity. Professional counseling can also ease the difficulties of the coming out process.

Those suffering from mental illnesses within the Asian community often have difficulties seeking services. AACI Mental Health Services offers culturally and linguistically competent services that help clients overcome barriers to mental health care. We aim to decrease psychiatric symptoms, enhance daily functioning and assist individuals and family members in managing their conditions. We strive for healthy family interactions between the individual and their loved ones.

Services: mental health care for individuals and families. These services include specialized services for targeted populations and individuals with serious mental illness. Counseling serves a range of purposes, from assisting individuals in working through difficult issues to supporting individuals in developing their self-esteem and pursuing personal growth. Therapists provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk things through and to explore options and feelings. In addition to individual counseling in multiple languages, we offer group counseling and family counseling.
Fees are set on a sliding scale based on income. We also accept a variety of insurance plans, including TriWest, the health plan of active duty service members, National Guard and Reserve members, retirees, and their families. Our San Jose office accepts Medi-Cal. Students may qualify for a number of free sessions; please call for information.
Counseling sessions are available in our Palo Alto and San Jose offices, as well as on-site in a variety of community locations.
Languages: Counseling is available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and American Sign Language, as well as several other languages.
