AACI joins dental care safety net for Santa Clara County’s marginalized families

March 22, 2024

SAN JOSE, CA – AACI (Asian Americans for Community Involvement) has added dental and oral care to its wide array of client centered health, behavioral health and wellness service offerings for diverse and marginalized communities in Santa Clara County. We’re excited to announce the addition of AACI Family Dentistry to advance our efforts to provide fully integrated, whole-person care regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. By having primary care, dental, behavioral health, and wellness services through AACI, we’re working to streamline the patient experience, eliminating barriers to coordination and communication between healthcare providers. Our interdisciplinary approach allows us to more thoroughly understand our patients’ health conditions and enables us to address underlying issues more quickly and more effectively.

AACI Family Dentistry is located at 266 N Jackson Ave. Suite #1, San Jose, CA 95116.  We are currently accepting new patients, and all are welcome.

“The need for affordable dental services is substantial, particularly among low-income Latinx and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) children and families in our County.  The number of dental providers who accept Medi-Cal Dental cannot meet the demand and wait lists can be 6 months long.” said Sarita Kohli, President and CEO of AACI.  “As a community health center, AACI has taken on providing dental services in-house to support the complex needs of our patients and clients.”

AACI Family Dentistry provides affordable, high quality, and culturally sensitive dental care for all ages.  AACI’s multilingual care team provides comprehensive primary and preventive dental services to everyone who needs it.  AACI Family Dentistry accepts Medi-Cal Dental or self-pay patients.  Sliding fee scales are also available for those who qualify.

Poor oral health has a correlation to a variety of systemic health issues, including heart disease, diabetes, problems during pregnancy, and even dementia. By providing regular check-ups and addressing oral health issues early, our dental team plays a crucial role in promoting and improving overall health and wellbeing of all in our community.” Said Dr. Shilpa Mehta, the Managing Dentist at AACI Family Dentistry.

The types of dental services AACI Family Dentistry provides include preventive care cleanings, x-rays, fillings, root canals, extractions, dentures, crowns, gum treatments and more.

We are accepting new patients!  Please contact AACI Family Dentistry at (408) 272-1999 to schedule an appointment or visit www.aaci.org/dental for more information.

COMING SOON:  In Summer 2024, AACI will add primary care services at this location at 266 N Jackson Ave. Suite #4, San Jose, CA 95116. AACI Health Center provides primary care services for all ages including support with immunizations, chronic disease management, Family Planning, Access, Care & Treatment (Family PACT), Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and insurance enrollment support.
