AACI's Katie A Program

AACI’s Katie A program provides intensive community and home-based mental health services to children in foster care or at risk of entering foster care.  The program focuses on holistic and comprehensive service expansion to meet the needs of children, youth, and their families ages 0-21. The program is committed to strengthening the collaboration between child welfare agencies and mental health services using the Integrated Core Practice Model (ICPM).  AACI’s Katie A team is trained to provide services to clients with a trauma-informed and strength-based approach. This approach empowers children and their families, giving them resources to create a life worth living.

AACI’s Katie A offers the following services:

•             Case management

•             Individual therapy/Family therapy

•             Psychiatric services/Medication management

This summer the Katie A providers created two summer camps for the youth to participate in. The first group ran for 4 days and focused on movement and physical activity. The second group focused on expressive arts and taught the kids different art projects they could do at home to express themselves

AACI’s wellness coach is putting together an art group for those in the Katie A program! This group will teach the youth how they can use art as a coping skill or to express themselves. There are several fun projects planned! Stay tuned for dates and times!
