Providing Behavioral Health Support to Families



As an outpatient community provider for the CalWORKs Community Health Alliance, AACI provides families with a range of behavioral health and social services. The program offers individualized, family-focused counseling that addresses emotional well-being, substance abuse issues, relationship issues, mental health issues, family stress, and trauma from abuse. Psychiatric services (evaluation and ongoing medication management) are also available.

  • Must be CalWORKs clients and qualifying adult family members.
  • CalWORKs clients must be either enrolled in the Welfare-to-Work Program, Family Reunification Program, or have a status as “Child Only,” “Good Cause,’ “Exempt,” “Sanctioned,” or “Post Aids.”
  • Clients served must meet Medi-Cal medical necessity criteria.

CalWORKS Transitional Housing Program


In addition to intensive Behavioral Health Services, the CalWORKs program also offers a Transitional Housing Service for women and their children who are homeless or in need of a safe place to live while attending behavioral health services for the Program.  It provides up to 6 months of housing to three families (women and children.)


  • Client must be already enrolled in the CalWORKs program
  • A potential resident must be receiving therapy from a CalWORKs counselor at any CalWORKs agency (doesn’t need to be AACI)

Referral Process

  • Contact Chi-Jung Lin to make a referral or if you have questions.
  • If a CalWORKs client needs housing but is not in therapy, they may be able to enroll with AACI for therapy in order to qualify. Contact Chi for further information.
