AACI to hold first Health & Wellness Fair on June 30, 2016

[San Jose, CA] Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) is hosting its first Summer Health & Wellness Fair on June 30, 2016 at its main office: 2400 Moorpark Ave., San Jose, CA 95128. The fair, free and open to the public, will take place from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

The fair, with presenting sponsor Prudential Retirement, will feature resources to promote healthy eating, financial wellness and physical fitness, water conservation, energy usage, and much more. Participants will also enjoy food, music, and entertainment. Gift certificate prizes given out at the fair are courtesy of sponsor Whole Foods.

“AACI is excited to host its first ever Health & Wellness Fair,” said President & CEO Michele Lew. “Summertime means school is out and the heat gets turned up. This fair celebrates summer and spotlights how we can all stay healthy, hydrated, and well. We welcome all in our community, including children of all ages.”

Activities at the Health and Wellness Fair include:

  • Children’s safety display, “Safetyville”
  • U-JAM and BOLLYX demo classes
  • Spin the wheel prizes
  • Piñata
  • Food trucks: Soulnese, Shark Bait, and Cross Hatch

Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI)’s mission is to improve the health, mental health, and well-being of individuals, families, and the Asian community. Founded in 1973, AACI is the largest community-based organization focused on the Asian community in Santa Clara County. Current programs include mental health and primary care health services, health education, HIV/AIDS testing and education, substance abuse treatment, problem gambling treatment, a center for survivors of torture, shelter and services for domestic violence victims, a senior center, youth programs, English classes, and community advocacy.
