San Jose, CA – On Thursday, April 18, 2019, Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI), in partnership with The Health Trust and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department – will host a community meeting to discuss next steps in the API Health Assessment Implementation Plan. The meeting will be held at the Vietnamese American Community Center, 2072 Lucretia Avenue, San Jose, CA 95122, from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian will be joining the meeting, as will other key API partners and advocates.

Since Santa Clara County Public Health Department published the API Health Assessment Report in 2017, AACI has conducted focus groups to engage API community members and identify key priorities and recommendations to address the disparities found in the report. The purpose of this community meeting is to share the results of the focus groups, engage key partners, and identify next steps in the implementation planning process.

Community members who represent, work with, or are knowledgeable about the subgroup populations, including advocates, stakeholders, faith leaders, physicians, social workers, mental health counselors, service providers, and educators, are especially encouraged to attend.

Light dinner will be served and RSVP is required. If you have any questions regarding the community event, please contact Edwin Tan from AACI at 951-741-0619.
