We are Better Together
October 14, 2015
Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) brought over 450 guests to celebrate being “Better Together” at its 2015 fundraiser on October 10th in Santa Clara. The event brought in over $300,000 to support health and wellness programs.
Festivities included dancers who roused the crowd to bhangra and bollywood jams and an exciting live auction. The guests watched an AACI video featuring high school youth from the organization’s LEAD program (Leaders for Education, Advocacy and Democracy) who bravely talked about their experience with depression and how they continue to persevere. The powerful video, You Matter Too, brought the crowd to its feet to thank the youth for sharing their stories.
We are honored to serve alongside many great supporters. The accomplishments of our honorees Dr. Jerry Hiura, Chi Am Circle, and Kim Delevett also inspire us to keep serving the community!
We are thankful for the generosity of our Honorary Council, Board of Directors, staff, amazing volunteers – and of course everyone who attended this year’s Better Together fundraiser!
AACI also thanks the talents of Mike Inouye, Dance Identity, auctioneer Chris Leach, harpist Naomi Sun, sax player Bob LoPresto, Breaking Sky Productions, and the incredible balloon character/animal making talents of Andrew Pon. Any inquiries about these artists can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
And as always, thank you to ALL of our sponsors!
