New Video Release: “False Realities…”

February 24, 2014

The AACI HIV, Outreach, Prevention and Education (HOPE) Program just released a short video that highlights the stories of three local gay men who have struggled with issues of sexuality and substance use. “False Realities: Gay Men, Sex, and Party Drugs” addresses the prevalent use of methamphetamines and alcohol among gay and bisexual men. AACI highlights the lives of three men whose stories reflected experiences shared by many others and three community leaders who were able to discuss the intersection of drugs and sexuality from different perspectives.

The HOPE Program will be holding screening and discussion events throughout the next few months, as well as distributing copies of the video to organizations and schools. If you are interested in viewing the video online, you can watch it here (link to video). If you are interested in a copy for your organization or school (Spanish subtitles available on all DVDs), please contact Malaya Arevalo, HOPE Program Manager at malaya.arevalo@aaci.org.

This project was funded by the Santa Clara County Department of Alcohol and Drugs Services.
