Vision New America Program becomes part of AACI

July 16, 2013

On July 1, 2013, Vision New America’s Youth Leadership and Civic Engagement (YLCE) Program officially became a program of AACI. As part of AACI, the YLCE Program will promote leadership development and civic engagement among underrepresented youth, primarily high school students throughout Santa Clara County.

“We are looking forward to having AACI continue to fulfill the mission of Vision New America and believe that this is the right moment in time to make this transition”, said Hsing Kung, Vision New America board chair and member of AACI’s Honorary Council.

On May 19th, this year’s class of 27 interns was inducted at a ceremony at AACI, with an announcement regarding the transition of the YCLE Program. The interns are provided with training and are working this summer in various local, state and federal offices and nonprofit organizations. The interns will also participate in community service projects. AACI looks forward to training the next generation of leaders to build strong and healthy communities. The induction ceremony featured remarks from Assemblymember Paul Fong, Mayor Evan Low, Vision New America board members C.C. Yin and Sandy Chau, and AACI board member Patrick Kwok.
