SBFT: (re)present 2011 a Success

May 20, 2011

On May 12th, South Bay First Thursdays (SBFT) held an annual event known as (re)present.  Occupying the Theatre on San Pedro Square in San Jose, the event displayed many talented individuals and groups ranging from musicians, to spoken word artists and dancers.  In celebration of Asian Heritage Month and being SBFT’s most popular event of the year, this showcase gave a chance for many Asian-Pacific Islander (API) artists to gain exposure and really show-off their talents and passions.

Even with the San Jose Sharks game in town just a few blocks away during that same night, it didn’t stop the event from going into standing-room only.  The event was a success and could not have been done without the generous help from Kollaboration SF.  A special guest was also in the house that night.  Folks from Asian American entertainment news website, heyyaa!, were also there doing video press coverage.  This is the first time in its three years that (re)present had outside coverage.
