(Re)present: event featuring innovative Asian & Pacific Islander American artists on May 6th

Event kicks off Asian Pacific American Heritage Month here in the South Bay

(San Jose, CA) – In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, South Bay First Thursdays will present the Asian & Pacific American identity through art and expression on Thursday May 6th from 8pm to 10pm at the Theatre on San Pedro Square in San Jose.

This event will feature performances by local musicians and artists of Cambodian, Chinese, Pilipino, and Vietnamese descent.

  • Musical acts by Charito Soriano, The Like Me’s, Monique Macasaet, Patrick Ngo, and Shawn Megofna.
  • Spoken word by Anna Nguyen and Maurice Seaty.
  • Paintings by Niki Escobar.
  • Photography by Andre Nguyen.
  • Dancing by Motion Monsterz, and HyDef Performance.

Anna Ko, event organizer, explains, “(Re)present is a platform for APIA artists to explore their cultural identity and to come together with community to create a nexus of energy, expression, and ingenuity.”
